Panel Discussion: Climate Change and National Determined Contributions
28 African countries have set out and committed to NDCs that will develop approximately 102 GW of renewable energy generation between 2025 and 2035. To develop this level of power the continent will have to develop robust investment strategies and identify how it can achieve the figure required to produce this capacity, a figure experts estimate at over USD $200 billion. This session sets out how NDCs are formulated, the opportunity it provides for developers to tap into national strategies and the role of the finance community to develop climate change strategies around the NDCs of Africa Government.
