Genser will use liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) as the main fuel, supplemented by a staged solar power plant. The Bomboré project will be the first mine in Burkina Faso to use LNG to fuel its operations. The power plant will consist of 6 (six) 2.5 MW LNG generators with 4 (four) 2.6 MW diesel standby units. This configuration is sized for the initial exploitation of the oxide and the expected expansion of the sulphides. The company will sell the energy produced to Orezone at a fixed rate over the entire life of Bomboré (13 years)

Mr. Patrick Downey, President and CEO, said: “We are extremely pleased to be the first mine in Burkina Faso to use a hybrid power supply of LNG and solar power. In addition to being an excellent profitable choice for Bomboré, we also see this new energy solution as a very positive step for the mining and power generation sectors in Burkina Faso.

Recall that the mine obtained last January structured financing of $ 182 million for its construction.
