Zaher Ibrahim

Vice President- Europe, Middle East, & Africa Baker Hughes 

Zaher Ibrahim was appointed as the Vice President (VP) for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in May 2022. With more than 22 years of industry experience, Zaher has taken various field, operational and leadership roles across the energy value chain.

In this role, Zaher is focused on driving business growth and commercial intensity to take energy forward in partnership and collaboration with key customers such as TotalEnergies, bp, Shell, Equinor, ENI, Saudi Aramco, ADNOC and Qatar Energy. He is also focused on supporting our customers to reach their net-zero targets, by leveraging the company’s energy transition portfolio.

In January 2021, Zaher was appointed as the VP for the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey & India (MENATI) region for Baker Hughes, working closely with NOCs to support their energy needs and localization initiatives. He was responsible for driving growth and operation excellence with customers and partners across the Baker Hughes portfolio.

From 2019 to 2020, he was the VP for the Saudi, North Gulf & East Mediterranean region for Baker Hughes based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, supporting key accounts and initiatives in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. From 2017 to 2018, Zaher was the MENATI Sales and Commercial Leader for Baker Hughes, focusing on delivering topline growth by driving commercial intensity with key accounts, as well as exploring new opportunities for business development across the portfolio.

Before joining Baker Hughes, Zaher was the Power Generation Services Sales General Manager for General Electric (GE) in the Middle East, where he focused on driving growth across the portfolio, building commercial intensity and value, and introducing innovative solutions with key customers and partners.

In 2010, Zaher was appointed as the Energy Services General Manager for GE, based in Dammam, where he was responsible for driving the expansion of GE’s energy portfolio in Saudi Arabia.

Zaher joined GE in 2000 as part of the Energy Services Field Engineering Program in Schenectady, New York, followed by an assignment in the US. He then moved to the Middle East to take on multiple operational roles across the region, in countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Zaher holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Beirut.
